“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” – Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
This morning, I bumped into a friend I hadn’t seen in a few weeks. She shared how much joy her vision board brings her each day—it was a sweet moment. What I didn’t expect was that our conversation would be overheard by the woman I was doing social work with.
Curious, she asked about vision boards, and I explained how I had spoken at a church about setting goals and the importance of vision—anchored in my faith as a Christian. I also shared that the grant I work under ends in September. She looked concerned, but I told her not to worry. I had planned to retire next year anyway, but clearly, God is moving things in His own timing.

I told her I’m writing a book set to release in Fall 2025 and that I believe God is shifting me into a new season of purpose. I reminded her—and myself—that while we can make plans, it’s the Lord who establishes our steps.
She got quiet, then teared up. “I’m not a Christian,” she said, “but I believe in God—and you just said things I needed to hear today.”
That unexpected encounter turned into a divine appointment.
It reminded me that God uses everyday moments to reveal His presence. When we’re open and willing to share our stories, God meets people right where they are—through us.

Have you ever had a moment that felt “accidental,” but turned out to be God-orchestrated?
How can you stay open to divine appointments in your daily life?
